I must admit I'm surprised no one has done a post on this already. I know a couple of people who went to this.
I went to the English Conversation partner orientation and have already met up with my partner after the meeting. So far we've only talked about ourselves and the various differences in our lives and cultures, which I have learned are many. I'm looking forward to continued conversations.
We speak entirely in English but I'm hoping that as soon as my Chinese's skills improve perhaps we can communicate both ways. I also feel pretty good about really helping someone improve his skills so he has an easier time living here in the USA.
