Indianapolis Service Trip

It's amazing to think that even with all of the opportunities for community service in Columbus, a team of fifteen Humanities Scholars were able to go out of the state to Indianapolis to serve at Habitat for Humanity on March 5, 2011. The members of the organization were happy to have us in the city on Friday evening, where we had a wonderful dinner at Buca de Beppo and then had a peaceful evening of movies and logic puzzles at the hotel. The following day, we woke up and immediately went to the Habitat office, where we helped organize and paint a room in the office. It was a great experience to help out with the Habitat community.

  1. The service trip was really fun. It was nice to get out of the state for a little bit and visit Indianapolis. Friday was nice (the dinner was great!) Saturday was great, also. Instead of going to an actual house, we just worked in the office. It was interesting to see where everything really happens to make those houses possible. It was nice to help out the people that are always so busy helping everybody else.

  2. This service trip was a really fun trip. We got to get out of Columbus while still not having to drive too long. We had dinner at Bucca di Beppo's which was delicious, especially the chocolate cake! The Habitat for Humanity work was really fun too. We painted a conference room all day and the end results looked great.
